Business expenses on Schedule C

Mark a transaction as business and choose its Schedule C line, by hand or with a rule.

Open a transaction and tick Business expense (Business income for money in). Countorra offers a Schedule C line from the transaction's category; choose another if it fits better. Money in goes on line 1, gross receipts; a charge goes on one of the expense lines, 8 to 27a.

To do it for every charge from a shop, make a rule: When a charge at the shop → Mark it as business (Schedule C), and choose the line. Rules apply as transactions arrive, and Apply to the past reaches the ones you already have.

Countorra adds up what you mark; it doesn't decide what is deductible. Meals (line 24b) are added up in full, and your accountant applies the deductible part. Depreciation, business use of your home and cost of goods sold aren't marked here.
