Using Countorra

Accounts

Bank accounts, cash, credit cards and wallets, each with a balance — plus homes, vehicles and loans you value yourself.

Every account added up into one figure, with what you own against what you owe.

An account is anywhere money is kept: a bank account, a credit card, cash or a wallet. Its balance is its opening balance plus every transaction in it.

Bank and credit card accounts and their transactions come from connecting your bank, so they can't be added or entered by hand. Cash and wallet accounts are the ones you add and fill in yourself. Accounts you entered by hand before stay, with their history, and can be connected to your bank so new transactions arrive from it.

Things a bank connection doesn't carry — a home, a car, a loan — can be added on Net worth as values you keep up to date. They hold no transactions.

An account you no longer use can be archived.

If a bank stops updating an account — no new import for a few days, a sign-in it needs, or a balance that hasn't moved for much longer than usual — the account says Balance may be out of date, with why and one fix: Refresh or Reconnect. Net worth still counts it and says how many balances may be out of date. A card that moved to another bank (like Discover to Capital One) is counted once: Countorra asks you to confirm the move, and leaves the old card out from the day it stopped.
