Using Countorra

Cash flow and forecasts

Money in and out by month, where it went, and the balance ahead — always labelled as a projection.

See what came in, where it went and what was left, month by month.

Cash flow shows a month's income, spending, what was left and your savings rate against last month by the same day, twelve months side by side, what changed most, where the money went by category and by merchant, essential against discretionary spending, and recurring against one-off.

The balance ahead projects your cash accounts (bank, cash and wallet accounts) eight weeks forward from today's balance, the recurring payments and income on your calendar (everything Countorra found on Recurring, with your corrections), and everything else at its usual pace: money in less money out of those cash accounts over up to the last three months. It needs about two months of history first, and until then it says so instead of guessing. It says its lowest point in words first. If it looks like dipping low, Countorra tells you.

Cash flow says when its bank figures were last imported, and warns you when a connection needs attention. Transactions in another currency aren't converted: the page says how many it left out.

Every point in a forecast is labelled actual or projected. A projection comes from your history and isn't a prediction Countorra can guarantee. Ask Countorra can project too — ask something like “what will my balance look like at the end of next month?”.
